Η Επίσκεψη , για Ορχήστρα και μέτζο σοπράνο
εμπνευσμένο από τον φερώνυμο πίνακα του Γιώργου Ρόρρη

Μουσική για Τέσσερις Λεπτομέρειες και Τέσσερις Λέξεις
Προσμονή  Θύμηση  Φόβος  Μοναξιά

Δύο γυναίκες. Ή μήπως μια; Σε δύο αιχμηρούς άξονες. Ο χρόνος να περιεργάζεται τα είδωλα και το φυσικό φως παντού , να μας έλκει.

Όταν αντίκρισα το έργο του Γιώργου Ρόρρη στην πραγματική του διάσταση, άρχισα να δημιουργώ μια μυθοπλασία για τα μοντέλα, τη σκάλα, τον τίτλο, το φως. Κατά την συνάντηση και τη συζήτηση με τον ζωγράφο κατάλαβα πόσο πολύ περιόριζαν την θέαση του πίνακα όλα όσα είχα σκεφτεί .
Έτσι αποφάσισα να μην αναζητήσω μια αφήγηση αλλά να επεκτείνω μια αυθαίρετη γραμμή και με οδηγό τέσσερις λεπτομέρειες του πίνακα με τέσσερις υπότιτλους, δημιουργώντας ένα έργο που να αντιμετωπίζει την Μοναξιά και ειδικότερα την Μοναξιά όσων την έχουν επιλέξει.

Εν τέλει, τη λύση αποκαλύπτει το Φως που πάντα σε αυτό πιστεύουμε και έχει την δύναμη να μας παρασύρει.

Για την ιστορία, ο συγκεκριμένος πίνακας είναι ο πρώτος στον οποίο ο ζωγράφος χρησιμοποιεί το φυσικό φως εντός του εργαστηρίου του.

Στο τέταρτο, και τελευταίο μέρος, ακούγεται το Σονέτο αρ.8 του Ουίλλιαμ Σαίξπηρ.

Το έργο είναι ανάθεση του Ελληνικού Σχεδίου και παρουσιάστηκε για πρώτη φορά στις 18 και 19 Μαρτίου 2017 στη Στέγη του Ιδρύματος Ωνάση από την Εθνική Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα της ΕΡΤ υπό την διεύθυνση του Λουκά Καρυτινού και σολίστ την Θεοδώρα Μπάκα.

The Visit, for orchestra and mezzo soprano,
based on the namesake painting by Giorgos Rorris 

Music for four Details  and four Words:
Expectation, Recollection, Fear, Solitude

Two women. Or maybe one? In two cutting lines.
While Time peers into the images and the natural light attracts us.

As I saw this Giorgos Rorri’s work in its actual dimension, I started to create a story about the models, the stairs, the title, the light.
During our discussion with the painter, I realized that all I had imagined limited the painting’s impact.
So I decided to abandon any effort for a narrative. Extending an arbitrary line, based on four details of the painting which I gave four subtitles, I was led to a composition about Solitude and more specific the Solitude of those who have chosen it.

Finally, the solution comes from the Light, to which we always belive and has the power to carry us away.
It should be mentioned that this painting is the first Giorgos Rorris painted in his atelier’s natural light .

In the last part, the words heard belong to the  Shakespeare’s Soneto VIII.

The composition is a comission by the ‘To Elliniko Shedio’ and it premiered on March 18th and 19th 2017 at Onassis Cultural Center, by the National Radio and Television Orchestra under the direction of Loukas Karytinos and Theodora Baka as soloist.
